21 Day Fix App for Tracking Food

I think my answer to every problem in life is, “Is there an app for that?”

So now that my tracking sheet for the 21 Day Fix is up…I’m looking for an app. I kept thinking of what I wanted and it hit me–why not use the “Reminders” app in my iPhone for this? (sorry Droid and other phone users–this is probably something you can’t do, but I get you can do it with a similar program. If you figure it out, post below and let us know!)

21 Day Fix App

So I figured it out. First off–see the “Reminders” app pointed to in the photo above? OK, open that.

You then create a New List. I give it a title based on the container and make the list color the same as the container color:


I then go into the list and add a new item for each serving I need of that:


I go through that for each food group and here is what I end up with (oh and don’t worry, I’m not gonna eat my kids! That’s another to-do list I have in there!)


As I go throughout the day, I just check off what I had after I eat:


I love this because I can look at my phone and right with one glance I can see what I have left for the day:


Then at the end of the day, you just uncheck all of the boxes and start fresh the next day!

Quite honestly, this is MUCH easier than doing the book–I always lose my book–rarely EVER do I lose my phone since it is always near me!

    That is super cool! I don’t have a suggestion for an Android app, but I’d bet there are a bunch of to-do list ones that would work just as well. Yours is cool that it’s color coded like that, though :)

    How did you change the colors??

      When you are in the list, click “Edit”, then just below the list title there should be the word “Color”–click on that and select the new color. I hope that helps.

    I can’t seem to find that app on my iPhone. :(

      Hmm, it should come standard with an iPhone (it is called the “Reminders” app). I don’t think that the phone even lets you delete it. Do you have the latest system upgrade? I hope that helps!

    What a cool idea! Thanks! I added my containers to my reminder list. When I mark a serving complete, by tapping the circle, it automatically deletes it. The app can assist my tracking, but each night I will have to re-add all the servings per container. Do you know how I can mark the serving without deleting it? That way at the end of the night, I can just un-mark the circles.

      Click “Show completed” at the bottom of the list and it will show those that you marked off. Then just unmark them at the end of the day.
